On the occasion of Earth Day 2026, observed on 22 April, the shared theme “Our Power, Our Planet” comes to the fore. 

An outstanding success of VÚPC, a.s. at a prestigious exhibition in Japan

The Pulp and Paper Research Institute (VÚPC, a.s.) took part in the prestigious EU-Japan Smart Energy Week exhibition at Tokyo Big Sight, where it represented Slovak research and cutting-edge inventions on a global stage.

Representatives of the Pulp and Paper Industry Association of the Slovak Republic participated in the Waste Management 2026 conference.

On 17–18 March 2026, the Waste Management 2026 Conference took place in the High Tatras at Hotel Patria**, bringing expert discussion on upcoming legislative changes, the reform of extended producer responsibility, and their practical impacts. The event was also attended by the Secretary General of ZCPP SR - Juraj Dlhopolček, while Marianna Matajová contributed to the programme with an expert presentation.

Thank you for your trust, cooperation, daily efforts, and commitment of colleagues in production, administration, education, and in the management of operations across all our member organizations.

I wish the entire paper industry community that, in the coming year, we continue our cooperation—one that combines professional expertise with a human approach and creates space for new ideas and a positive atmosphere.

I deeply appreciate that we have been able to build this foundation together, through open dialogue, mutual respect, and at a professional level.

EU Council prepares mandate for negotiations on the amendment of the deforestation regulation (EUDR)

The EU Council has endorsed the European Commission’s proposal aimed at simplifying the due-diligence process and has proposed a unified one-year postponement of the regulation’s application date for all operators until 30 December 2026.

Successful international cooperation of ACPP, SPPC and ZCPP SR at the expert seminar “Quality Management and Water Treatment in the Pulp and Paper Industry.”

On 6–7 November 2025, the hotel Kraví Hora in Božetice hosted another edition of the international professional seminar “Quality Management and Water Treatment in the Pulp and Paper Industry.” The event was traditionally organized by the Society of the Pulp and Paper Industry (SPPC) in cooperation with the ASSOCIATION
OF THE CZECH PULP AND PAPER INDUSTRY (ACPP) and the Slovak Pulp and Paper Industry Association (ZCPP SR).
